As our time winds down, I ask Rina what advice she has for other young artists trying to break through the noise without losing their soul.

“Rina is a character, sure,” she explains, tracing the rim of her cup. “But she’s also the parts of me I’m too scared to say in public. The anger, the lust, the pettiness. I put a distortion pedal on my voice so I can finally say, ‘Yes, you did hurt me, and I’m not okay with it.’”

Joybear crew is my favorite production team to work with and spend time with. Well written, poetic and humorous scripts motivate me to commit but also have fun playing my character. Amazing locations, smooth organization and atmosphere of understanding and respect for performers makes working with Joybear feel more like creative holiday trip. While everyone is sweet and kind, there’s no confusion about tasks, schedule, boundaries and ethics. On Joybear set I feel valued as a performer but also as fellow filmmaker. I can always expect high production value and great images of myself made by the team, I’m looking forward to future projects.
