ISATAP does not provide authentication of ISATAP router advertisements, making it vulnerable to rogue router attacks. In Windows 7, disabling ISATAP is recommended unless explicitly required. Scenario: A Windows 7 laptop had Cisco AnyConnect installed for 18 months. After uninstallation, ipconfig showed five ISATAP adapters (#2 through #6), all with "Media disconnected".
