1. Introduction & Definition Authorware Player was a free, standalone runtime application developed by Macromedia (and later maintained by Adobe Systems after the 2005 acquisition). Its sole purpose was to play back content created with Macromedia Authorware , a powerful visual programming tool used primarily for creating computer-based training (CBT), interactive simulations, and educational kiosk software.
